“Sometimes projects can feel like a complete overhaul is required to make the most of the space. However, this open plan space offered an outstanding foundation. The main challenge was optimising the large amount of space so that it functioned well for a family whilst looking gorgeous and cosy. I wanted to bring the feeling of nature outside to inside the house, making it feel energising in the day, and then tranquil in the evening times.

The space planning part of this project was key. I worked closely with the client to understand who would be using the space and what direction the sun comes from. I then used these requirements to find the best layouts that would enable a natural movement flow around the open plan, and creating a sense of division between the living, dining and kitchen areas. The chosen furnishings focused on colours that compliment the lighting and the plants really bring the outdoors into the living area.”
